Art Classes

Lindsay McBride, Instructor As a professionally trained artist and as a mother, it makes me sad and frustrated that the art programs are frequently underfunded and unattended to in schools.  My goal is to provide art education that is both essential to our children’s development and fun for them to do!

Session 1: Painting and Drawing

Session one will focus on color.  We will learn about primary and secondary colors and how to mix different colors together.  We will learn about different kinds of materials and how to use them, many different art techniques, and a little art history. We will be having a gallery show at the conclusion of the session so each student can display his or her work.

           Dates:         June 4^th-13^th  (Mondays and Wednesdays)

         Time:          8:30am-10:00am

         Ages:          3-5

         Cost:          $75 ($18.75 per class)

Session 2: Painting and Print making

Session two will focus our attention on painting and printmaking.  We will learn about color, line, shape, and texture as well as a little art history. We will be having a gallery show at the end of the session so each student can display his or her work.

Dates:         June 5^th-14^th  (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

          Time:         1:30pm-3pm

Location:    My home

Ages:          6-9

Cost:          $75 ($18.75 per class)

Session 3: Drawing and Sculpture

Many works of art have stories in them. This class will teach the students that they can tell a story through their own artwork. They will have the freedom to pick between superhero and fairytale themes.  Then they will illustrate stories as well as sculpt storytellers out of clay.  We will be having a gallery show at the end of the session so each student can display his or her work.

Dates:         June-18^th-27^th  (Mondays and Wednesdays)

          Time:         8:30am-10am

Session 4: Painting and Printmaking
